In Canicattini Bagni, a town in the Iblei mountains in the province of Syracuse, the Feast of Saint John the Baptist is a tradition that continues to gain momentum. Known as the Baptizer, the humble precursor to the Messiah, Saint John enjoys a steadily growing devotion in the city, so much so that many local districts and landmarks still bear his name, commemorating the ancient churches dedicated to him before the 1693 earthquake.

For three evenings in late June, the village—famous for its elegant Art Nouveau facades that earned it the nickname 'City of Liberty'—transforms into an open-air stage. The festival blends religious observance with popular festivities, offering events designed for families, young people, and visitors alike.
