A free morning of play, nature, and well-being for children aged 0-6 and their families
The Family Festival at Parco Salvemini is a spring event dedicated to early childhood, held in Rivoli, an important center in the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont. For one morning, the event transforms the greenery of Parco Salvemini and the spaces of the "Alda Merini" Civic Library into a large, open-air, free workshop for children aged 0 to 6 and their families.
The central theme of the event is early childhood well-being, with a particular focus on the balance between daily life, relationships, and access to digital technologies. The activities are inspired by the guidelines of the Italian Pediatric Society, which has long recommended precise limits on screen time for young children. Alongside outdoor education workshops, there are moments of reflection on digital well-being to help parents guide their children toward more conscious device usage.
The program alternates between age-specific activities and sessions designed for adults:
The festival is promoted by the 0-6 Pedagogical Coordination Board of the City of Rivoli in collaboration with the COS Family Center, TurismOvest, and professionals from the ASL TO3 health authority. Throughout the morning, information stands are set up covering women's health, breastfeeding, educational services, pediatrics, and local associations. The initiative is part of the journey toward the 2026 Proximity Biennale, focusing on play, contact with nature, and the quality of family relationships.
The 2026 edition of the Family Festival at Parco Salvemini offered a rich program of outdoor workshops: play and manipulation with natural materials for the little ones, motor skills courses and gardening activities for children aged 3 to 6, storytelling with "Fairy Tales in the Park," and the "In the Footsteps of Nature" workshop.
Significant attention was given to digital well-being and emotional regulation, with the creation of an "emotions toolkit," alongside traditional games and nutritional education sessions. Numerous information stands were provided by the Family Center, ASL TO3, and local associations.
Parco Salvemini is located on Corso Susa in Rivoli and is easily accessible by car from the Turin ring road. Alternatively, you can use the GTT public transport lines connecting Rivoli to Turin.
The event takes place over a single morning, approximately from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Participation is free and aimed specifically at families with children aged 0 to 6.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities. For updated information on dates and the program, please refer to the City of Rivoli website.
