A dive into the Middle Ages in the heart of Tuscia

The Faleria Medieval Nights are the autumn appointment that every year takes the ancient Faliscan village, nestled between the Roman countryside and the Viterbo Tuscia, back in time. For three days, the streets and squares of the Municipality of Faleria, in the province of Viterbo, are populated by knights, ladies, jesters, and artisans, recreating the atmosphere of a small medieval village enlivened by shows, markets, and the aromas of traditional cuisine.

The charm of a village with ancient roots

Faleria is one of the most evocative villages in northern Lazio: its origins date back to the Faliscan and Roman eras, while in the Middle Ages the town became an outpost of the powerful Anguillara family, who built the castle that remains the village's symbol today. It is no coincidence that the event revolves around Piazza degli Anguillara, an ideal setting for a festival that celebrates the history and identity of the territory, from the ancient ties with Emperor Otto III to the medieval testimonies scattered in the surroundings.

A program of history, culture, and entertainment

The calendar of the Medieval Nights weaves together cultural moments and popular entertainment. Alongside the medieval encampment with knights, ladies, and artisans at work, there are historical seminars and conferences, photo exhibitions, guided tours of the village and surrounding castles, as well as spaces dedicated to virtual reality that tell the story of the past using contemporary languages.
