About ExpoCook

ExpoCook is a major trade fair dedicated to the food, catering, and hospitality industry, held at the Nuova Fiera di Roma in the Portuense district. Spanning 25,000 square meters across twelve thematic sectors, the event brings together over 250 exhibitors, chefs, pizza makers, bartenders, and producers from all over Italy. Featuring cooking shows, masterclasses, and professional championships like the Pizza World Competition, the event combines professional development for the Ho.Re.Ca. sector with public interest, offering free entry and tastings open to everyone.

A taste fair in the logistical heart of the Capital

ExpoCook is the event that brings together the entire food, catering, and hospitality supply chain in Rome, within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital and the Lazio region. Born and raised in Palermo, where it built its reputation over eight consecutive editions, the fair chose the Nuova Fiera di Roma on Via Portuense as its new home in 2025: a 25,000-square-meter space that allows for a continuous exhibition route across two pavilions, complete with demonstration areas, show arenas, and competition rings.

Twelve sectors to showcase the entire supply chain

The exhibition route is organized into thematic sectors to make this vast industry easy to navigate. Pavilion 2 is primarily dedicated to Italian gastronomic excellence, while Pavilion 4 houses professional equipment, technology, and furnishings. Represented sectors include:

  • Professional equipment for kitchens, ovens, counters, and laboratories
  • Indoor and outdoor furniture for restaurants, bars, hotels, and hospitality facilities
  • Bakery, pizza, pasta, pastry, and gelato, with continuous demonstrations
  • Coffee, tea, and espresso machines, the heart of a rapidly evolving sector
  • Food & beverage, raw materials, local products, wines, craft beers, and spirits
  • Management software, digital solutions, and packaging for modern catering

Cooking shows, masterclasses, and major competitions

The live program is the most spectacular part of the fair. The arenas host hundreds of cooking shows, talks, and masterclasses with chefs, pizza makers, pastry chefs, gelato makers, and bartenders, alongside in-depth sessions on olive oil, craft beer, wine, mixology, latte art, and cake design. The most anticipated moment is the Pizza World Competition, the international pizza championship which reaches its sixth edition in 2026: eight competition categories โ€” from free-theme round pizza to Neapolitan style, from pizza in pala to gluten-free, contemporary, and freestyle โ€” with a total prize pool of 5,000 euros and a jury chaired by Don Antonio Starita, a key figure in the European recognition of Neapolitan pizza. In addition to the competitions, there are contests reserved for students from hotel management schools, bringing the next generation of professionals to the fair.

For professionals and the public alike

ExpoCook was founded as a B2B event: the target audience consists of restaurateurs, hoteliers, venue managers, distributors, buyers, and suppliers of raw materials and equipment, who meet here over three days to discover a wide range of product and technology innovations. However, the Roman format remains open to enthusiasts as well: entry is free and the tastings offered at the stands make the visit interesting even for those outside the industry. It is one of the few settings where you can watch a championship-level pizza being prepared, attend a coffee masterclass, and sample regional specialties all in the same afternoon.

Rome and Lazio as a showcase

The choice of the Capital has a precise value: to act as a bridge between Central and Southern Italy, fostering a dialogue between the Sicilian productions that accompanied the event's history and those of Lazio and the entire peninsula. The first Roman editions received patronage from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Lazio Region, the Sicilian Region, and Rome Capital, with food sovereignty as the common thread of the conferences. For the city's food and wine tourism, this is an additional opportunity in a trade fair calendar that is already packed year-round at the Fiera di Roma.

ExpoCook โ€” edition 2026

Free entry, tastings open to the public.
