Flavors, traditions, and culture of the Impero Valley in three days of celebration
Expo Valle Impero is the event that showcases the food and wine, cultural, and traditional excellences of the Impero Valley, in the hinterland of the province of Imperia. The fair involves the eight municipalities of the valley — Caravonica, Aurigo, Borgomaro, Cesio, Chiusanico, Chiusavecchia, Lucinasco, and Pontedassio — in a common project for the promotion of the territory.
For three days, the stands will offer the typical products of the Impero Valley: extra virgin olive oil, the pride of western Liguria, wines, cheeses, and local culinary specialties. Alongside tastings, the event offers cultural initiatives and moments dedicated to the valley's traditions, in a showcase that tells the story of this agricultural territory's identity.
Organized by the Municipality of Chiusavecchia with the Chamber of Commerce Riviere di Liguria, Expo Valle Impero was created to give visibility to the productions and realities of a valley rich in history and flavors. The collaboration between the eight municipalities demonstrates the desire to jointly promote the territory, joining forces to attract visitors and showcase local excellences.
A small village in the Imperia hinterland, Caravonica is part of this valley of oil and agriculture, a short distance from the coast of the Riviera dei Fiori. Expo Valle Impero is the ideal opportunity to discover this authentic territory, far from mass tourism, amidst landscapes of olive trees and genuine flavors.
For 2026, Expo Valle Impero reaches its 4th edition, from May 31 to June 2 in Chiusavecchia. The event brings together the eight municipalities of the Impero Valley — Aurigo, Borgomaro, Caravonica, Cesio, Chiusanico, Chiusavecchia, Lucinasco, and Pontedassio — in a grand showcase dedicated to the food and wine, culture, and traditions of the area. The stands will offer the valley's typical products, from extra virgin olive oil to wines, with tastings and cultural initiatives. The event is organized by the Municipality of Chiusavecchia with the Chamber of Commerce Riviere di Liguria.
The Impero Valley can be reached from the Imperia Est or Imperia Ovest (A10) highway exits, heading inland. The event takes place mainly in Chiusavecchia, with the participation of the eight municipalities of the valley, including Caravonica.
The Expo is held over three days straddling May and June. Free admission; tastings at the stands.
