The Abendkonzert der Musikkapelle Deutschnofen is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer in Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, a municipality in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige. On the scheduled evening, the local brass band takes the stage at the Festplatz pavilion to perform an open-air concert under the starry sky of the Eggental Valley, at the foot of the Dolomites.

A band with over 150 years of history

The Musikkapelle Deutschnofen (Nova Ponente Brass Band) was founded in 1868 by Anton Prantner, the son of a teacher and one of the finest organists in South Tyrol at the time. He gathered about thirty young enthusiasts and introduced them to the study of music. Since then, the baton has passed through numerous Kapellmeister, and the band has grown to include dozens of active musicians, becoming a cornerstone of the town's social and cultural life.

The Abendkonzert is a key fixture in the Eggental summer calendar, complementing other band events such as the traditional Waldfest—a forest festival featuring music, food, and entertainment that brings the Festplatz to life in mid-summer. For visitors, it is an authentic opportunity to experience South Tyrolean brass band tradition in a stunning alpine setting, between Nova Ponente, Obereggen, and the Dolomite landscapes of the Eggental Valley.
