About Euritmia Mediterranea

The Euritmia Mediterranea Festival transforms Colle di Val d'Elsa, in the heart of the Siena province, into a vast, open-air stage. For six days, streets, squares, and the Teatro del Popolo host world music, theatre, and performing arts featuring artists and academies from across Europe and the Mediterranean. It is a celebration of cultural, generational, and linguistic exchange, with mostly free admission, weaving together the historic Tuscan village and its vibrant new creative energy.

An international festival in the heart of Tuscany

The Euritmia Mediterranea Festival is an international event dedicated to music, theatre, and the performing arts that brings Colle di Val d'Elsa to life—a refined village in the province of Siena known worldwide as the city of crystal. Promoted by the Euritmia Mediterranea ETS association, the festival aims to turn the entire town into an open-air stage: streets, squares, and the prestigious Teatro del Popolo become venues for performance, encounter, and dialogue between diverse cultures.

Six days of world music and live arts

The programme brings together artists, ensembles, and academies from Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Bosnia, the United Kingdom, and Mexico, joined by students from various schools. The common thread is the sound of the Mediterranean and world music, but the lineup spans concerts, street art shows, theatrical performances, and events dedicated to the younger generation.

  • The opening musical parade, which winds through the village from Colle Alta to Colle Bassa with musical stops along the way;
  • evening concerts in the square featuring orchestras and groups with Balkan, Brazilian, and Mediterranean sounds;
  • the Mediterranean Night, a grand finale filled with traditional folk music and dance from the South;
  • a theatrical matinée reserved for schools, with a show specifically designed for young audiences.

A widespread stage between Colle Alta and Colle Bassa

The unique feature of the Euritmia Mediterranea Festival lies in its urban and participatory nature: events are not concentrated in a single location but are distributed throughout the medieval village of Colle Alta, the town squares, and the lower part of the city, involving both residents and visitors. A street food area accompanies the festival days, making the experience even more convivial.

Culture, community, and new generations

Beyond its artistic programming, the festival promotes social and educational projects, with a special focus on schools and active community involvement. The event is part of the Colle di Val d'Elsa Municipality calendar and helps showcase this corner of Tuscany as a place where art, tradition, and innovation meet, just a few kilometres from San Gimignano, Siena, and Volterra.

Euritmia Mediterranea — edition 2026

The second edition of the Euritmia Mediterranea Festival took place in Colle di Val d'Elsa from 25 to 30 April 2026, transforming streets, squares, and the Teatro del Popolo into a vast, widespread stage. Six days of world music, theatre, and performing arts with artists and academies from across Europe and the Mediterranean, with mostly free admission.

The second edition of the Euritmia Mediterranea Festival brought Colle di Val d'Elsa to life from 25 to 30 April 2026 with a rich programme of music, theatre, and street arts. The event brought together artists, ensembles, and academies from Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Bosnia, the UK, and Mexico, in a dialogue between cultures and generations that involved the entire historic centre.

Among the guests of the evenings at the Teatro del Popolo and in the squares were prominent names from the Italian and international music scene, alongside moments dedicated to schools and the younger generation.
