The travelling stage of the world music festival through the alleys of the historic centre
Etnica is one of the longest-running and most beloved music festivals in Tuscany: born and raised in Vicchio, in the heart of the Mugello region, it reaches its twenty-eighth edition in 2026 under the name Mugello Global Groove. The festival, promoted by the Jazz Club of Vicchio, expands its boundaries every year by involving more municipalities in the district: in addition to Vicchio, the project's leader, the 2026 edition also touches Borgo San Lorenzo, San Godenzo, and Barberino di Mugello, in the Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany.
The philosophy of Etnica is to bring music to the real, lived-in places of the territory, away from conventional stages: squares, courtyards, alleys, and historic centres become settings for concerts, meetings, and moments of celebration. It is precisely in this spirit that the Barberino di Mugello stop is included, designed as a widespread and itinerant event that enlivens the village.
The Barberino di Mugello appointment is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026: the historic centre will host the travelling concert by Amorklab, an ensemble of expert musicians gathered in a brass band with a kaleidoscopic repertoire, deeply rooted in jazz and European music. For the occasion, the group is joined by the talented Turkish singer Selen Çapac, who enriches the concert with Mediterranean and oriental sounds.
It is an informal and engaging formula: the music moves through the alleys and streets of the centre, transforming the village into an open-air stage. Admission to the Barberino stop is free, in line with the festival's desire to make culture accessible to everyone and to reach even the audience of the smaller municipalities of the Mugello.
The Barberino stop is part of a wider programme that, throughout June 2026, intertwines concerts, exhibitions, an ethnic market, street food from all over the world, DJ sets, theatrical performances, and meetings. The heart of the festival remains Piazza Giotto in Vicchio, but it is the itinerant and widespread soul that makes Etnica – Mugello Global Groove an experience that enhances the entire Mugello territory.
For those visiting Barberino di Mugello and its surroundings, the Etnica stop is an opportunity to discover the village in a festive guise, accompanied by the sounds of world music and the cultural fusion that has characterized this Tuscan festival for almost thirty years.
Saturday, June 20, 2026, the historic centre of Barberino di Mugello hosts one of the widespread stages of the 28th edition of Etnica – Mugello Global Groove. The protagonist is Amorklab, a brass band of musicians with a kaleidoscopic repertoire rooted in jazz and European music, joined by Turkish singer Selen Çapac. The concert, itinerant and free of charge, winds through the alleys of the village, in full harmony with the spirit of the festival that brings music to the lived-in places of the Mugello territory.
The Barberino stage is part of the widespread programme of the 28th edition of Etnica – Mugello Global Groove, which in June 2026 also touches Vicchio (main venue, Piazza Giotto, from June 18 to 21 with Roy Paci & Aretuska, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Shantel & Bucovina Club Soundsystem and Nomadi), Borgo San Lorenzo (preview on June 11 with Baro Drom Orkestar) and San Godenzo (finale on June 27 with SuRealistas).
Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM, in the alleys of the historic centre of Barberino di Mugello (Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany). The concert is itinerant and takes place along the village streets.
The Barberino di Mugello stop has free admission.
By car: take the Barberino di Mugello exit on the Autostrada del Sole (A1). By train: the nearest station is Vaglia or Borgo San Lorenzo on the Faentina line, with a connection by bus. We recommend reaching the historic centre on foot, given the itinerant nature of the event.
