Six evenings of free music at the Parco della Pace in Rome
Estate in Consiglio is the summer festival promoted by the Lazio Regional Council within Parco della Pace, the vast green area surrounding the regional assembly's headquarters on Via della Pisana, in Rome's Municipio XI. The concept behind the event is simple yet effective: opening an institutional space to the public, transforming its open-air auditorium into a summer stage accessible to everyone, without tickets or reservations.
In a city that multiplies its cultural offerings during the summer, this festival stands out by focusing on the western suburbs, from Pisana to Corviale, and from Magliana to Bravetta, where live entertainment is historically more scarce. The park becomes an evening meeting place for families, residents, and curious visitors, set in a spacious, tree-lined, and secure environment.
The lineup alternates between different genres and styles, under the artistic direction of Marcello Cirillo, a well-known face of Italian television and pop music. The evenings range from singer-songwriter pop to instrumental jazz, including tributes to Italian music and themed shows that revisit the most popular decades of our discography.
All shows start at 9:00 PM. Throughout the event, the park hosts food trucks and kiosks, allowing the public to arrive early and spend the evening on-site.
Parco della Pace is more than just a garden attached to an institutional building: it is a large, well-equipped green area featuring an open-air auditorium capable of hosting several hundred spectators. Opening it to the public during the summer is one of the festival's declared goals, aiming to enhance existing assets rather than building temporary structures.
The free-admission format reflects a specific political and cultural choice: making live music accessible even to those who, for economic or logistical reasons, struggle to reach the major festivals in the historic center. Security and medical staff are on-site to ensure the evenings run safely.
Estate in Consiglio joins the Roman summer calendar alongside major events like Villa Ada and the Parco della Musica, yet it maintains its own identity: an intimate scale, free entry, and deep roots in the Lazio region and the host neighborhood. For those visiting Rome in July, it is also an opportunity to discover a less touristy side of the city, defined by urban parks and local community life.
It is advisable to arrive early, especially for evenings with popular artists: seating in the open-air auditorium is unreserved and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. July evenings in Rome remain warm for a long time, but bringing a light sweater for the return trip is useful. The park is flat and accessible to those with limited mobility.
The festival promoted by the Lazio Regional Council takes place in Parco della Pace, the green area adjacent to the assembly's headquarters on Via della Pisana, in Rome's Municipio XI. Six evenings are scheduled between July 6 and July 29, 2026, all with free admission and starting at 9:00 PM in the park's open-air auditorium.
The Vice President of the Regional Council, Giuseppe Emanuele Cangemi, presented the initiative, highlighting the free nature of the events and the focus on safety, with the Red Cross present during the shows. The artistic direction is entrusted to Marcello Cirillo, who has brought together popular Italian music performers around the idea that "under a melody, there are no flags or political divisions."
In addition to the concerts, a roaming street band will entertain the park and the surrounding neighborhood, while food trucks and kiosks will remain active throughout the event. Pedestrian access is from Via di Monte Stallonara, and vehicle access with parking is from Via della Pisana 1301.
