Art-house cinema under the stars on the Giulianova harbor quay
Estate d'Autore is the open-air film festival that brings the Giulianova harbor quay to life every summer in the province of Teramo, on the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Curated by the CineMusicaNova association in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Giulianova and the Port Authority, the event features a selection of seven recently produced films, with a special focus on debut works, Italian art-house cinema, and tributes to great masters.
Screenings take place every Monday evening at 9:30 PM directly on the harbor quay, in a picturesque setting with the screen facing the sea. Admission is free: a precious opportunity for those spending their summer in Giulianova and for the many tourists flocking to the Teramo coast during the summer months. The festival weaves the pleasure of cinema with the atmosphere of a maritime village, amidst moored boats and the evening Adriatic breeze.
The lineup focuses on titles that combine artistic merit with accessibility: award-winning films from major festivals, debut works by emerging directors, and restored classics. Each evening becomes a small cultural event, designed for a curious and passionate audience, far from the logic of mere summer entertainment.
Set in the heart of the Giulianova harbor, one of the most vibrant seaside resorts in the province of Teramo, the festival highlights one of the city's most iconic landmarks: the marina, with its fishing traditions and promenade. Estate d'Autore is part of the rich calendar of summer events promoted by the Municipality, offering a high-quality cultural alternative during the summer evenings on the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo.
The 2026 edition of Estate d'Autore kicks off on Monday, June 29 on the Giulianova harbor quay, with screenings every Monday at 9:30 PM and free admission. The festival concludes on August 24 with 'Lo sceicco bianco', a tribute to Federico Fellini curated by Jamshid Ashough.
