The traveling Sicilian viticulture fair arrives in Mazzarrone
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Enopolis is a traveling trade fair entirely dedicated to professional viticulture, conceived and organized by the Agrisicilia magazine in collaboration with the Isvam Research Center. This is not a local food festival, but a genuine B2B event aimed at industry stakeholders: winegrowers, agronomists, agricultural machinery companies, producers of fertilizers and biostimulants, researchers, and protection consortia.
Enopolis takes place over a single day and is structured into several complementary sessions. The morning is reserved for technical conferences, featuring experts discussing crucial industry topics: water conservation, workplace safety, biostimulants for vines, precision farming, and vineyard mapping with drones. The afternoon is dedicated to field demonstrations, where agricultural machinery is shown in action directly between the rows. The event is rounded off by around twenty exhibition stands, company presentations, and a rustic lunch offered to participants. Admission is generally free upon registration.
The hallmark of Enopolis is its rotating location, visiting different viticultural capitals of Sicily. The first two editions, in Marsala and Menfi, were dedicated to wine grapes; the third, in June 2025, was held in Canicattì (at the Baglio San Nicola farmhouse in Naro, province of Agrigento) and was the first to focus on table grapes.
During Enopolis 2025, a twinning agreement was announced between the Consortium for the Protection of Canicattì PGI Table Grapes and the Consortium for the Protection of Mazzarrone PGI Table Grapes, chaired by Giovanni Raniolo. This agreement led to the assignment of the fourth edition to Mazzarrone in 2026. Mazzarrone, a municipality in the province of Catania bordering the Ragusa area, is one of the iconic territories for Sicilian table grapes and holds the PGI designation that bears its name. As of now, the exact dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced.
Following the Canicattì stop in June 2025, the fourth edition of Enopolis has been awarded to Mazzarrone, in the province of Catania, the capital of PGI table grapes. The assignment stems from the formal twinning between the Consortium for the Protection of Canicattì PGI Table Grapes and the Mazzarrone PGI Consortium, chaired by Giovanni Raniolo, which was announced during Enopolis 2025.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been made official. Based on previous editions, the classic format is expected to be repeated: a field day with technical conferences dedicated to innovation, water conservation, and mechanization, exhibition stands from industry companies, and field demonstrations of machinery between the rows. The detailed program will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
Mazzarrone (CT), in the province of Catania, bordering the Ragusa area, in the heart of the PGI table grape production zone. The exact venue for the event will be announced along with the dates for the 2026 edition.
By car: Mazzarrone can be reached via the SS194 and the provincial roads connecting the Calatino area to the Ragusa area; the nearest airports are Catania-Fontanarossa and Comiso. By train, the reference station is Caltagirone, with onward travel by bus.
As this is a professional event, admission is usually free but requires registration. For information, it is best to contact the organizers (Agrisicilia / Isvam Research Center) or the Consortium for the Protection of Mazzarrone PGI Table Grapes.
