The summer festival of performances in the Municipality of Enna
Enna d'Estate is the summer festival promoted by the Municipality of Enna, the capital of the province of the same name in the heart of Sicily. For over two months, from late June to early September, the city transforms into a grand open-air stage: a widespread program that blends music, theater, dance, comedy, opera, and folk traditions, designed to be attractive, inclusive, and intergenerational.
The festival's format is based on widespread culture: events are not concentrated in a single venue but move between the squares and iconic locations of upper and lower Enna, extending to the hamlet of Pergusa. Among the most evocative locations are Piazza Duomo, at the foot of the cathedral, and the famous Castello di Lombardia, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Italy. The program also reaches Piazza Europa, Viale IV Novembre, the Cloister of Montesalvo, Piazza Spirito Santo, Piazza Municipio, and numerous city districts, involving the entire urban fabric.
The artistic offering is intentionally diverse: singer-songwriter concerts and pop music, tributes to the great Italian tradition, comedy and cabaret shows, opera and dance evenings, theatrical performances, and moments of folk and band music. There is no shortage of events dedicated to families and young people, featuring magic, entertainment, and initiatives linked to local excellence. The symbolic heart of the Enna summer is the celebration of Maria Santissima della Visitazione, the city's patron saint, which draws thousands of people to the historic center every year.
Enna d'Estate is entirely curated by the municipal administration, with the support of local businesses, and serves as a tool for enhancing the city's cultural heritage and tourist appeal. Most performances are free of charge, confirming the popular and participatory nature of the event, which accompanies residents and visitors throughout the summer season in the heart of Sicily.
The 2026 edition of the festival, presented by Mayor Vladimiro Crisafulli and Councilor Marilisa Milano with artistic consulting by Mario Incudine, includes 24 events spread from June 28 to September 4 in the squares of Enna and in Pergusa. The heart of the season is the celebration for the patron saint Maria Santissima della Visitazione (July 2-4), featuring a concert by Ermal Meta in Piazza Europa on July 2.
It kicks off on June 28 in Piazza Duomo with the show "Donne di Ilio" by students of the Liceo Colajanni, followed by comedian Uccio De Santis (June 29) and the opera and Neapolitan evening by Antonio Interisano (June 30). Musical guests include Grazia Di Michele at the Castello di Lombardia (July 11), Alessio Bondì, the Song's Sisters, and Lunarossa on Viale IV Novembre, Deborah Iurato with "Battisti al femminile" at Sant'Anna (July 26), and soprano Piera Grifasi in Piazza Duomo (July 27).
In August, highlights include "The Barber of Seville" by Artemis Danza directed by Monica Casadei (August 7, Piazza Duomo), comedian Roberto Ciufoli (August 10), and concerts spread across Pergusa, the Cloister of Montesalvo, and the city's districts. The festival closes on September 4 in Piazza Sant'Agostino with Tinturia Player and Turè Muschio.
Performances take place in various squares and locations in the city of Enna (Piazza Duomo, Castello di Lombardia, Piazza Europa, Viale IV Novembre, Cloister of Montesalvo, Pergusa, and others), in the province of Enna, Sicily.
Enna is accessible via the A19 Palermo-Catania motorway (Enna exit). The Enna train station is located in lower Enna, connected to the historic center (upper Enna) by shuttles and a scenic road.
Most events are free of charge. For ticketed events, it is recommended to check details with the Municipality of Enna and the official festival channels.
