An evening of signature music at the foot of the Apuan Alps

On July 4, 2026, at 7:00 PM, the Medici Palace of Seravezza, in the province of Lucca, hosts «Semplicemente Ornella», a tribute concert part of the «Enchanted Villas and Gardens» summer festival by the Orchestra della Toscana. The event takes place in the evocative Cava Barghetti, adjacent to the Medici residence, in a unique setting at the foot of the Apuan Alps, in the heart of the Tuscan Versilia.

A tribute to Ornella Vanoni

The star of the evening is the repertoire of Ornella Vanoni, one of the most beloved and refined voices in Italian music. Her most famous songs are interpreted by The ORT Brass Ensemble & Rhythmics, a group combining the brass section of the Orchestra della Toscana with a rhythm section of piano, electric bass, and drums. Vocals are provided by Lucia Sargenti, with arrangements by Demetrio Bonvecchio. The concert, lasting approximately 60 minutes without an intermission, weaves together jazz, singer-songwriter classics, and pop in an elegant and intimate reinterpretation.

The «Enchanted Villas and Gardens» festival

Now in its tenth edition, the festival brings fifteen concerts by the Orchestra della Toscana to ten iconic locations within the Medici landscape during the summer of 2026, including villas, gardens, and historic residences. The guiding philosophy is music «that does not impose itself on the location, but listens to it and transforms it»: each concert engages in a dialogue with the architecture and the landscape that hosts it. The Medici Villas and Gardens of Tuscany have been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2013, Renaissance masterpieces where art, nature, and music converge.

The Medici Palace of Seravezza

Commissioned by Cosimo I de' Medici in the second half of the 16th century as a hunting and holiday residence, the Medici Palace of Seravezza is now a museum and the cultural heart of the Municipality of Seravezza, in Tuscany. Its location, between the marble quarries of the Apuan Alps and the Versilia coast, makes it an exceptional setting for summer events. The nearby Cava Barghetti adds the charm of a natural open-air amphitheater to the evening.
