Every spring, to coincide with the Easter holidays, Piazza Castelnuovo — the elegant urban square facing the Teatro Politeama in Palermo — hosts the "Easter in Palermo" fair. This free-entry event is conceived and organized by Nino Parrucca, a renowned master ceramicist from Palermo and founder of the Sicilianissimo brand, who has long promoted the island's artisanal expertise, including through the "Christmas in Palermo" series.
Under the gazebos set up in the square, visitors can explore a path dedicated to the excellence of Sicilian manual work. Exhibitors typically offer:
"Easter in Palermo" is more than just a market: it is an opportunity to rediscover the artistic trades that have made Sicily famous worldwide, from ceramics to woodwork and leather crafting. The choice of Piazza Castelnuovo, one of the city center's most popular squares, turns the event into a stroll through colors and scents, perfect for those looking for an original Easter gift or simply wishing to soak up the city's atmosphere.
Promoted within the Municipality of Palermo, in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily, the fair is aimed at both locals and tourists flocking to the capital for Holy Week. The 2025 edition, the third, took place from April 18 to May 4 with continuous opening hours. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced by the organizers.
A new edition of the "Easter in Palermo" fair is expected in 2026 in Piazza Castelnuovo, in the center of Palermo, featuring the usual display of Sicilian craftsmanship signed by Nino Parrucca. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been made official: in line with tradition, the event should take place in the weeks around Easter (April 5, 2026).
