In the heart of Valle Stura, in Sambuco—one of the twelve municipalities of this alpine valley in the province of Cuneo—the Town Hall Square becomes an open-air theater for one evening. The star of the show is "DOORS," a clown performance created by the Compagnia del Buco from Reggio Emilia, one of the most acclaimed acts in the Italian new circus and comedy theater scene.

A wordless show for all ages

Created in 2022, "DOORS" is a form of theater of the absurd where the true protagonists are objects: doors of every dimension that open, close, and interact with the two actors. With a deadpan style reminiscent of the great Buster Keaton and a subtle, refined humor, the show captivates audiences of all ages without needing a single word. It is a universal language made of gestures, rhythm, and visual poetry.

The quality of the production is recognized by major accolades: "DOORS" won the Mirabilia Awards 2023 and received a special mention at the "Emanuele Luzzati" National Children's Theater Prize in 2024. Promoted by the Unione Montana Valle Stura and directed by Dispari Teatro (formerly Il Melarancio), the festival involves several municipalities—from Demonte to Pietraporzio, from Aisone to Valloriate—with shows designed for families and summer visitors to the Cuneo mountains.
