About Dolomites Bike Day

The Dolomites Bike Day is the great cycling festival where the Falzarego and Valparola passes are closed to motorized traffic and reserved entirely for cyclists. A non-competitive, free event with no registration, open to everyone: road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, and vintage bikes. A 51 km loop between Cortina d'Ampezzo, Val Badia, and Livinallongo, to be cycled freely in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

One day of Dolomites all for cyclists

The Dolomites Bike Day is one of the most beloved events for two-wheel enthusiasts in the Alps. For one day, the Falzarego and Valparola passes are closed to motorized traffic and become an exclusive stage for cyclists, amidst the peaks of Cortina d'Ampezzo (province of Belluno), Val Badia, and Livinallongo.

A 51-kilometer loop

The route is a 51 km loop circuit (Campolongo–Falzarego–Valparola) with approximately 1,290 meters of elevation gain. There is no single start point: each cyclist can begin from any point on the route and pedal at their own pace, in total freedom. The roads remain reserved for bicycles from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering a rare experience of silence and high-altitude panoramas.

Free, no registration, for everyone

The event's philosophy is inclusivity: the Dolomites Bike Day is free and requires no registration, just show up on the day of the event. It is open to every type of bicycle — road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, and vintage bikes — and to cyclists of all levels. Promoted by Alta Badia and Arabba with the UNESCO Dolomites territories, it is a celebration that honors gentle mobility and the pristine beauty of these mountains.
