About DiVino Jazz Festival

The DiVino Jazz Festival brings an evening of world-class international jazz to Ercolano, set within the unique MAV (Virtual Archaeological Museum). As part of a traveling festival that visits seven municipalities in the Vesuvius area near Naples every December, the event combines free concerts, local wine tastings, and cultural itineraries. In Ercolano, jazz engages with archaeology and the culinary traditions of Vesuvius in an event that weaves together original music, heritage, and landscape.

Jazz meets Mount Vesuvius

The DiVino Jazz Festival is one of the most original musical events in the Campania region: every December, it brings top-tier international jazz to the towns surrounding Mount Vesuvius, near Naples. The name is a clever play on words: divino (divine) like high-quality music, and di vino (of wine) like the glasses from local wineries that accompany the concerts. In Ercolano, the festival finds one of its most evocative settings, hosted at the MAV โ€” Virtual Archaeological Museum, just steps away from the ancient ruins of Herculaneum.

A traveling festival across seven towns

Conceived and directed by Gigi Di Luca, the DiVino Jazz Festival does not have a single home: it is a traveling event that, over two weeks, visits seven Vesuvius-area municipalities โ€” Pompei, Ercolano, Torre del Greco, Torre Annunziata, Boscoreale, Boscotrecase, and Trecase. Each evening takes place in a different location: historic theaters, auditoriums, basilicas, and museums become the stage for refined and unpredictable jazz. This formula highlights the entire territory, inviting the public to discover villages and monuments while following the music from town to town.

Archeojazz: music and heritage

One of the festival's hallmarks is the Archeojazz section, which creates a dialogue between contemporary music and archaeological sites. The Ercolano stop at the MAV is the perfect example: the virtual museum, which uses multimedia technology to reconstruct life in ancient Herculaneum before the eruption of 79 AD, hosts a concert that blends modern sounds with ancient memory. Alongside the music, the festival offers tastings of local Vesuvius wines, guided tours, and cultural and nature trails.

An international lineup

Despite being free to attend, the DiVino Jazz Festival features top-tier artists from the Italian and international jazz scenes every year, including several national exclusives. Audiences in Ercolano enjoy high-level programming in an intimate and welcoming setting, where the proximity between musicians and spectators makes every concert a direct and engaging experience.

Ercolano, between excavations and the sea

Attending a DiVino Jazz concert in Ercolano is also a chance to experience a city that guards one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. In December, with festive lights and the cozy atmosphere of the winter season, the Vesuvius stop of the festival is the perfect appointment for those who love to combine music, culture, and fine food and wine in a single evening.

DiVino Jazz Festival โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the DiVino Jazz Festival has not yet been officially announced. The festival, which reached its eighteenth edition in 2025, is traditionally held in December and travels through seven Vesuvius-area municipalities, including a stop in Ercolano at the MAV. Dates and the program will be published by the organizers, presumably in the autumn of 2026.

At the moment, the organizers have not yet released the dates and program for the 2026 DiVino Jazz Festival. Based on previous editions, the festival is expected to take place in December 2026 with its usual traveling format across the Vesuvius-area municipalities, including a stop in Ercolano at the MAV โ€” Virtual Archaeological Museum. This page will be updated as soon as the official lineup is made public.

Programme DiVino Jazz Festival 2026
