The Christmas Wine Art Fest is an event that brings to Cercola—a town in the Metropolitan City of Naples at the foot of Mount Vesuvius—an evening dedicated to wine as a vehicle for culture, identity, and regional development during the holiday season. The festival takes place at the Municipal Theatre of Cercola on Viale dei Platani, bringing together institutions, scholars, producers, and artists to celebrate the food and wine excellence of the Vesuvius area and the wider Campania region.

The VinCantium format

At the heart of the initiative is VinCantium by MAVV, a format created by MAVV – Wine Art Museum president Eugenio Gervasio, which fuses music, belcanto, emotional video projections, and tastings into a single experience. It is an original way to tell the story of wine not just as an agricultural product, but as a cultural heritage capable of uniting art, memory, and community. The wine museum, with its educational mission, brings the meeting between Campanian oenological tradition and the performing arts to the stage.

An institutional and scientific event

The event is promoted by the Municipality of Cercola together with the MAVV and IRVAT (Regional Institute for the Valorization and Protection of Agri-food Products), with the contribution of the Metropolitan City of Naples. Alongside the performances, there is a conference dedicated to Traditional Agri-food Products (PAT) of the Vesuvius area, featuring university professors, industry experts, and local authorities. The theme of valorization, protection, and quality of local products is at the center of the debate, demonstrating that the Fest aims to be much more than just a simple celebration.

The In Vino Veritas awards

A symbolic moment of the evening is the presentation of the MAVV "In Vino Veritas" awards, honors bestowed upon individuals who have distinguished themselves in promoting wine, agriculture, and agri-food heritage as cultural and social assets. The award highlights the bond between the production sector, universities, and local institutions, in a journey that aims to consolidate itself over the years.
