Three days in Udine between science, art, and biodiversity
Born in 2016 to dismantle prejudices about human "races", DiverSimili has become a festival celebrating diversity in all its forms: biological, cultural, and identity-based. Promoted by the Kaleidoscienza association, it transforms a corner of Udine into a widespread laboratory of science and culture for three days each year, free and open to families, young people, and adults.
The festival intertwines scientific, artistic, and performative languages: lecture-performances, theatrical shows, interactive installations, dance, documentaries, and workshops for children. An original way of disseminating knowledge, where scientific rigor meets the emotion of art and public participation.
DiverSimili opens on May 22nd, coinciding with the International Day for Biological Diversity, and is included in the official program of initiatives promoted by the United Nations for the occasion. The festival is made possible with the contribution of the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and in collaboration with the Municipality of Udine and numerous local entities.
Behind the three days is a year-round effort: the "Venerdรฌ da Kaleidoscienza" project involves dozens of children and young people in regular scientific observation, cataloging, and experimentation activities. DiverSimili is its showcase and concluding celebration, an invitation to look at the world with curious eyes.
From May 22 to 24, 2026, at via Brigata Re 29 in Udine, the sixth edition of DiverSimili Festival returns, organized by Kaleidoscienza. The common thread starts from a simple and surprising observation: living beings transform to survive. The 2026 edition focuses on the themes of adaptation and relationship, also examined through the lens of neuroscience.
Three days of free events upon reservation, open to families, young people, and adults, intertwining science, dance, installations, documentaries, and theater. The opening on May 22nd coincides with the International Day for Biological Diversity.
