In Roccabianca, a small town in the Bassa Parmense region of the province of Parma (Emilia-Romagna), the Castle and the Faled Distilleries tell a story that inextricably links historical heritage with the culture of spirits. The Distillery in the Castle event invites you to discover this connection through a series of guided tours spread over two weekends in October.
From the 15th Century to Aging Cellars
Roccabianca Castle is a 15th-century manor, famous for its fresco cycle and the evocative atmosphere of its halls. Its more recent history is equally unique: in 1970, the castle was purchased by Cavalier Mario Scaltriti, owner of the Faled Distilleries, founded in Roccabianca in 1945. Scaltriti transformed the manor into a large aging cellar for his spirits, creating a unique blend of medieval fortress and grappa culture.
What the Visit Includes
The guided tour is divided into two complementary parts:
- A visit to the Faled Distillery, to witness the distillation process of grape pomace and discover the production of grappas, aged grappas, and artisanal liqueurs.
- A visit to Roccabianca Castle, to delve into its history from its 15th-century origins to the present day.

For those visiting the province of Parma in autumn, Distillery in the Castle is the ideal opportunity to combine the discovery of a historic castle with the charm of an ancient, still-active distillery.
Distillery in the Castle — edition 2026
For 2026, the Distillery in the Castle event in Roccabianca (PR) returns over two weekends in October: October 10-11 and 17-18. The event confirms the established format of previous editions, with guided tours that combine the Faled Distillery and Roccabianca Castle.
The detailed schedule of tour times for 2026 will be published by the Castles of the Duchy circuit closer to the event. Booking is mandatory.

Based on previous editions, the days will feature multiple guided tour slots in the afternoon (and sometimes in the morning on Sundays), each lasting approximately one and a half hours, divided into two parts:
- Faled Distillery — visit to witness the grape pomace distillation process and discover the production of grappas and liqueurs.
- Roccabianca Castle — guided tour to discover the history of the manor, from its 15th-century origins to the present day.

How to Get There
Roccabianca is located in the Bassa Parmense, about 35 km north of Parma. By car, it can be reached via the provincial road towards Busseto and Cremona. The nearest train station is Parma, from which you can continue by car or local transport.
