The open-air community dinner in the village of Ancarano
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Some festivals are born to bring an entire community together, and Dinner Under the Stars is exactly that: a long, convivial banquet set up in the historic center of Ancarano, a small village overlooking the Adriatic in the province of Teramo, on the northern borders of Abruzzo. For one summer evening, the streets and squares of the town turn into an open-air living room, where residents, families, and guests sit side by side to share an outdoor dinner under the August stars.
The initiative is promoted by the Municipal Administration of Ancarano in close collaboration with the Pro Loco Ancarano, and is designed as a concrete gesture of closeness and gratitude toward the citizens. It is not a commercial fair, but a true village festival: a moment of social connection where the village gathers, shares stories, and bonds as a community. The dinner is part of a summer program designed to enliven Ancarano during the hottest months and to showcase the identity and local traditions of this corner of the Teramo region.
The musical heart of the evening is the concert by the Banda Città di Ancarano, conducted by Maestro Francesco Albertini, which accompanies the dinner with a repertoire designed for the square. The band is one of the cultural institutions most cherished by the town, and its performance among the tables is one of the most anticipated moments: the notes mingle with the convivial chatter, capturing the most authentic spirit of a community celebration.
Participating in Dinner Under the Stars is also an opportunity to discover Ancarano, a medieval village that preserves its ancient gates—the Porta da Mare with its pointed arch facing the Adriatic, the Porta Nuova, and the Porta da Monte—as well as panoramic viewpoints like the Belvedere Cecco d'Ascoli. A simple and genuine evening that combines good food, live music, and the pleasure of being together in the heart of the Adriatic Abruzzo.
The 2026 edition of Dinner Under the Stars in Ancarano does not yet have an official date announced by the Municipality and Pro Loco. The event traditionally takes place in mid-August, around Ferragosto, with the usual convivial banquet in the historic center and the concert by the Banda Città di Ancarano.
The detailed program will be communicated by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event, presumably through the social media channels of the Pro Loco Ancarano. As soon as information becomes available, this page will be updated.
