Every year, around November 1st, the historic center of Campliโan ancient medieval village in the province of Teramo, Abruzzoโcomes alive with the Great All Saints' Festival. It is an event deeply rooted in Abruzzese popular tradition, weaving together folklore, music, gastronomy, and community life within the village's alleys and squares. The event is promoted by the Campli Domani merchants' association, with the support of the Municipality of Campli and local businesses.
The heart of the festival is traditional music: roving folk groups like I Musicanti parade through the streets, while the Circolo Uniti per la Vita performs dances in traditional costumes. In recent years, the event has hosted a 'ddu botte' Abruzzese organetto and diatonic accordion competition, with contestants performing in various categories. The contest, dedicated to the memory of a local musician, has attracted nationally recognized champions, drawing enthusiasts and players from across Abruzzo.
The festival is also an opportunity to rediscover typical products and autumn specialties from the Teramo area. Culinary offerings include:
The festival is the perfect occasion to visit Campli, one of the most beautiful villages in Abruzzo, home to the Holy Stairs (Scala Santa), the Church of San Paolo, Palazzo Farnese, and the nearby Campovalano necropolis. In some editions, the program has been enriched with free guided tours of the village, nature excursions, and a market featuring local crafts and products, transforming the All Saints' holiday into a weekend dedicated to discovering the area's historical and natural heritage.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Great All Saints' Festival in Campli have not yet been announced. Based on previous editions, the festival takes place around November 1st in the village's historic center, featuring a chestnut roast in the square, folk music, roving folk groups, and tastings of typical products from the Teramo area. For updated information, we recommend checking the Campli tourism portal or contacting the Municipal Tourism Office.
