About Danzare a Monte d'Invern

Danzare a Monte d'Invern is the first winter contemporary dance festival in Val di Fiemme, Trentino. Born as the winter counterpart to the summer Danzare a Monte festival, it is organized by the Pluraldanza association between Tesero and Predazzo. Through debates, walks, screenings, and performances, the festival reinterprets the mountains and winter sports through the language of the body, leading up to the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Danzare a Monte d'Invern: where the mountains meet dance

Danzare a Monte d'Invern is the first winter contemporary dance festival in Val di Fiemme, located in the province of Trento, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The festival was created as a natural winter extension of the summer event Danzare a Monte, promoted for years by the Pluraldanza association, a collective of artists from across Trentino united by their passion for the mountains.

The project

The activities that define the valley during the cold season—cross-country skiing, glacier trekking, climbing, and mountaineering—are reinterpreted through dance to tell stories and shed light on shared memories of life in the mountains, spanning the past, present, and future. The festival, which includes meetings, walks, screenings, and performances, was held in the lead-up to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, for which Val di Fiemme serves as one of the host venues.

A widespread festival between Tesero and Predazzo

The event takes place across the towns of Tesero and Predazzo, with performances hosted at the Teatro Comunale in Tesero and the Cinema Teatro in Predazzo. Pluraldanza's goal is to spread the language of dance throughout Val di Fiemme, establishing it as a premier location where local and visiting artists can develop their creations in direct contact with the alpine landscape.

The inaugural program

The first winter edition spanned the 2025-2026 winter season with three main events:

  • RIMAYE_un disvelamento materico (November 27, 2025, Teatro di Tesero), a performance on the fate of alpine glaciers, choreographed by Silvia Dezulian and Filippo Porro;
  • Il mio corpo è come un monte (December 13, 2025, Cinema Teatro di Predazzo), a creation by Giulia Odetto exploring the relationship between the body and rock;
  • WHITE OUT (January 11, 2026, Teatro Comunale di Tesero), a work by Piergiorgio Milano that blends contemporary dance, circus, and mountaineering.

A production rooted in the territory

Danzare a Monte d'Invern is organized by Pluraldanza in collaboration with the Centro Servizi Culturali Santa Chiara and the Coordinamento Teatrale Trentino, and is part of the Trentino-Alto Adige Dance Circuit. The festival combines contemporary choreographic research, alpine culture, and the promotion of the valley's community theaters.

Danzare a Monte d'Invern — edition 2026

The first winter edition of Danzare a Monte d'Invern took place between November 27, 2025, and January 11, 2026, in Tesero and Predazzo. Three contemporary dance performances dedicated to the mountains and winter sports were held in the lead-up to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics.

The inaugural season of Danzare a Monte d'Invern offered a journey through contemporary dance centered on the alpine culture of Val di Fiemme. The festival kicked off on November 27, 2025, at the Teatro di Tesero with RIMAYE_un disvelamento materico, a performance on the retreat of glaciers by Silvia Dezulian and Filippo Porro. It continued on December 13, 2025, at the Cinema Teatro di Predazzo with Il mio corpo è come un monte by Giulia Odetto, exploring the relationship between the body and rock. The closing event, on January 11, 2026, at the Teatro Comunale di Tesero, featured WHITE OUT by Piergiorgio Milano, which blends dance, circus, and mountaineering in tribute to climbers lost in the mountains.
