An afternoon of dance in the heart of Riva del Garda
Dancing Under the Stars is a widespread event that dedicates an entire day to dance in the historic center of Riva del Garda, one of the most beloved towns on the Trentino side of Lake Garda. The initiative was born from a simple and engaging idea: to take dance out of the studios and gift it to the public directly in the squares, amidst the frescoed buildings and porticoes of the old town, in a festive atmosphere that accompanies citizens and tourists from the afternoon until night.
The squares involved
Performances are spread across several points in the historic center, allowing visitors to discover a different style as they stroll. Open-air stages are set up in:
- Piazza Tre Novembre, the town's living room overlooking the lake with the Apponale Tower
- Piazza Cavour
- Piazza Garibaldi
- Piazza delle Erbe
- Porta San Giuseppe
Every style of Trentino dance
The program brings together dance schools and associations from all over Trentino, alternating on the various stages to offer an incredibly wide range of disciplines: classical and modern dance, Latin-American dances, Argentine tango, ballroom, swing, country, and group dances. It is an opportunity for the public to discover the vibrant local dance scene and, for the curious, to be tempted to try a few steps themselves.
A historic center event
Dancing Under the Stars is organized by the Consorzio Riva in Centro in collaboration with the Assocentro association, with the support of the Municipality of Riva del Garda, Confcommercio Alto Garda e Ledro, and Cassa Rurale AltoGarda-Rovereto. It is part of the calendar of events that enliven the city center throughout the season, designed to promote the businesses and shops in the ancient heart of Riva del Garda. Admission to all performances is free.
Held at the end of May, the event ideally kicks off the summer season in the Alto Garda Trentino area, when the mild climate and long days invite everyone to enjoy the squares until late in the evening.
Dancing Under the Stars — edition 2026
The third edition of Dancing Under the Stars was held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from approximately 3:00 PM until late evening, enlivening the historic center of Riva del Garda with dance performances spread across Piazza Tre Novembre, Piazza Cavour, Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza delle Erbe, and Porta San Giuseppe.
Students from numerous schools and associations in Trentino took turns on the stages, including Bf Dance Studio, Fantasy Dance, Coordinamento 60 e Più, Academia de tango, Arco Iris Dance, Fulloutdancelab, Academy of dance and ballroom, 100% Divertimento, Controvento Team & Danzaattiva, D.Lab, No Name Trentino Swing, Country Whisper Dance School, Dance Emotion, Metroart, Body and Mind, Scuola di danza Alto Garda, and Arco Asburgica.
The edition was organized by the Consorzio Riva in Centro together with Assocentro, with the support of the Municipality of Riva del Garda, Confcommercio Alto Garda e Ledro, and Cassa Rurale AltoGarda-Rovereto.

How to get there
By car: A22 motorway exit Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord, then SS240 towards Riva del Garda. By train: Rovereto station on the Brenner line, then local bus to Riva del Garda. The historic center is pedestrianized: it is recommended to leave your car in the external parking lots.
