Sixty days of music among the castles, theatres and parks of the province of Potenza
There is a precise idea behind the name Corto Circuito Musica Festival: to spark a connection between great music and the most precious places in Basilicata. For sixty days, from June 12th to August 9th, the travelling review crosses the province of Potenza with eighteen events in eleven municipalities, transforming castles, theatres, parks and archaeological sites into exceptional stages.
Directed by Giovanna D'Amato and Stefano Valanzuolo, the festival aims to connect different expressive forms, experimenting with original formulas and offering a rewarding showcase for many emerging young artists. The programme ranges from classical music to jazz, from opera to multimedia performances. The opening, on June 12th at the Teatro Stabile di Potenza, is entrusted to the Basilicata ICO Orchestra 131 conducted by Christopher Russell.
Among the municipalities involved are Banzi, Genzano di Lucania, Venosa, Palazzo San Gervasio, Tito, Pignola, Grumento Nova, Pisticci and other centres, chosen for their historical and architectural richness. Promoted by the Cosmopoli Association and supported by the Ministry of Culture (MiC-FUS), the Basilicata Region and the municipal administrations, Corto Circuito brings cultured music out of traditional halls, restoring new life to the villages and monuments of the province of Potenza.
The 2026 edition of Corto Circuito Musica Festival offers 18 events spread across 11 municipalities in the province of Potenza over 60 days of programming. Artistic direction is entrusted to Giovanna D'Amato and Stefano Valanzuolo; among the municipalities involved are Banzi, Genzano di Lucania, Venosa, Palazzo San Gervasio, Tito, Pignola, Grumento Nova, and Pisticci. The festival is organised by the Cosmopoli Association.
