A night of music and love in the suspended village of the Lucanian Dolomites
On the most romantic night of the year, the village of Pietrapertosa — among I Borghi più Belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy) and the highest municipality in Basilicata — joins the Notte Romantica, the national event promoted by the association I Borghi più Belli d'Italia, which every year, on the weekend of the summer solstice, lights up Italian historic centres with music, lights, and declarations of love.
For the occasion, Pietrapertosa becomes "Borgo Sonoro": an itinerant saxophone concert winds through the alleys and stairways of the village, creating an atmosphere suspended among the illuminated rocks. Along the main streets and at the Largo Mona belvedere, the "Foto d'Amore" installation is set up, a collection of images dedicated to the community's feelings and memories.
As in all participating villages, the evening culminates in the famous collective midnight kiss, a symbol of an event that combines the promotion of historical heritage with the celebration of love. A night to be experienced while strolling through the breathtaking panoramas of the Lucanian Dolomites, in the province of Potenza.
The 2026 edition of the Notte Romantica is set for Saturday, June 20, with the national theme dedicated to love and memories. Pietrapertosa participates by transforming into "Borgo Sonoro".
The program includes an itinerant saxophone concert through the village streets and the "Foto d'Amore" installation at the Largo Mona belvedere and along the main village roads, culminating in the collective midnight kiss that closes the evening in all participating villages.
Details on timings and artists will be announced by the Municipality of Pietrapertosa in the weeks preceding the event.
Pietrapertosa can be reached by car from Potenza via the SS407 Basentana, Campomaggiore-Albano exit. The historic centre is mostly pedestrianised; it is advisable to park in the external areas.
The event is free and takes place in the public spaces of the village.
