Basilicata Beer Music Festival

A square that smells of hops and music

When August arrives, the very central Piazza Mario Pagano in Potenza transforms into the headquarters of quality beer. The Basilicata Beer Music Festival — also called the European Beer Festival — is now one of the most beloved events of the summer in the Lucanian capital: a large open-air village where beer culture meets live music, in a climate of popular celebration and taste.

Over a hundred beers and lots of good food

The heart of the event is the selection of over a hundred international beers, with a particular focus on variety and artisanal quality. Accompanying the mugs are about ten food stalls offering street food and specialties for every taste. Evenings of good music with concerts, DJ sets, artistic installations, and street music complete the offering, in a mix designed for all ages and the whole family.

Heart of the Summer in the City

The festival is one of the flagship events of the Estate in Città (City Summer) program by the Municipality of Potenza, which every year enlivens the capital of Basilicata with hundreds of events. Free admission makes it an opportunity for socialising open to all, capable of drawing thousands of people to the square and restoring vitality to the historic centre on August evenings.
