The summer of the Lucanian capital

When the warm season arrives, Potenza fills with music, shows, and opportunities for gathering. This is thanks to Estate in Città, the major summer programme by the Municipality of Potenza which, in 2026, from June 1st to September 22nd, schedules as many as 274 events including exhibitions, music, theatre, cinema, and outdoor activities. A very dense programme, created together with associations and citizens to liven up the summer of the Basilicata capital with quality.

Squares and parks take centre stage

The events unfold in the city's symbolic locations: Piazza Matteotti hosts the "Festa della Musica… Talenti Lucani" in June, the Teatro Stabile hosts the concerts "Intuizioni del tempo" and "La Potenza della pace", the Parco Baden Powell hosts sports events, Piazza Albino Pierro hosts various shows, and the Archaeological Museum hosts the Oasicinema film festival. In August, Piazza Mario Pagano lights up with the renowned Basilicata Beer Music Festival.

A widespread celebration for the whole community

From the white nights of "Cura e del Libro" in July to the recreational activities for families in the historic centre, Estate in Città is designed to involve all age groups. The Councillor for Culture, Roberto Falotico, described it as the result of a collective effort to liven up the warm season with quality. A programme that is constantly growing, making the Lucanian capital a vibrant and welcoming city throughout the summer.
