About Corrida di Sammoro

Corrida di Sammoro – Show Us Your Talent is the most lighthearted talent show of the San Mauro a Signa Carnival, in the province of Florence. At the Ex Cinema Lux on Via della Croce, amateur performers of all ages take the stage to sing, dance, act, or amaze the audience with their acts. A challenge featuring auditions and a grand finale that showcases local talent, filled with laughter, applause, and a few good-natured boos, in the popular and familiar spirit of the Tuscan carnival.

A talent show in the heart of the Signa Carnival

Corrida di Sammoro – Show Us Your Talent is one of the most beloved events of the San Mauro a Signa Carnival, in the territory of Signa, in the Province of Florence. Inspired by the famous television format of 'La Corrida', the event gathers the town's "amateur performers" on the stage of the Ex Cinema Lux: ordinary people of all ages who step into the spotlight with their own singing, dancing, comedy, magic, or any other talent to show to a warm and engaged audience.

Auditions and Grand Finale

The second edition is spread over several evenings. The auditions accompany the first part of the program and lead to the final, where the most applauded contestants compete for the audience's favor. It is the audience itself, with its applause and good-natured boos, that decides the outcome of the challenge, in a festive atmosphere that recalls the lighthearted spirit of the carnival tradition.

Part of the San Mauro Carnival

Corrida di Sammoro is one of the side events of the San Mauro Carnival, a historic Signa celebration now in its 58th edition, featuring its characteristic masked parades and allegorical floats created by the volunteers of the San Mauro Parish Committee. While the Sundays of February are filled with floats, confetti, music, sweets, and brigidini along the streets of the village, the Ex Cinema Lux hosts the challenge between local talents, offering an indoor show that completes the carnival program.

The spirit of Sammoro

"Sammoro" is the name by which the inhabitants affectionately call the hamlet of San Mauro a Signa: the Corrida is its most playful and identity-defining expression. Organized by the Pro Loco Signa A.P.S., the evening is designed as a community celebration, where what counts is not the perfection of the performance but the courage to get on stage and the desire to have fun together. A genuine event that values volunteering and social life in this corner of Tuscany on the outskirts of Florence.

Corrida di Sammoro — edition 2026

The second edition of Corrida di Sammoro – Show Us Your Talent took place in February 2026 at the Ex Cinema Lux in Signa, as part of the 58th edition of the San Mauro Carnival. Between auditions and the grand finale, local contestants challenged each other with singing, dancing, and variety acts, in front of an audience ready to applaud and boo in the best carnival spirit.

The 2nd edition

The Corrida di Sammoro 2026 enlivened the Ex Cinema Lux on Via della Croce in Signa with the second edition of its carnival-style talent show. The evenings alternated between the auditions of the contestants, from February 1st to 8th, and the final on February 15, 2026, coinciding with the Sundays of the masked parades of the San Mauro Carnival.

The format

Amateur performers of all ages took the stage with singing, dancing, comedy, and variety acts, evaluated by the applause and good-natured boos of the audience in the hall. The event, organized by the Pro Loco Signa A.P.S., confirmed the participatory and familiar formula that makes it one of the most beloved events of the Signa carnival.
