Two evenings of free live music in the land of Ligabue, featuring big names in Italian pop and emerging new talents
The Correggio Music Festival is one of the most surprising realities in the summer music scene of Emilia-Romagna. It takes place in Correggio, a town in the province of Reggio Emilia famous for being the birthplace of the Renaissance painter Antonio Allegri (known as Correggio) and the singer-songwriter Luciano Ligabue. It is in this territory with a strong musical vocation that, since 2024, a young, free festival deeply connected to the community has come to life.
The heart of the event is the Arena Concerti in via Fazzano, a space of almost mythical value for music lovers: in the eighties, legends like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Patti Smith, and Jeff Buckley performed right here. The festival aims to bring that venue back to the center of the live music scene, restoring its role as a stage for great music.
The program focuses on two consecutive evenings and offers a proven formula that alternates big names in Italian music with emerging artists. Genres range from pop to urban, to singer-songwriter music, always with a particular focus on live music.
What makes the Correggio Music Festival special is not just the quality of the lineup, but its collective soul. The event is organized by the association CMF APS and relies on the work of over a hundred volunteers who prepare the event for weeks. The contest for emerging artists, in particular, has proven to be a real launchpad: some of its winners have gone on to sign record deals and start professional careers.
Free, open to all, and capable of attracting young people from all over Italy, the festival is now a landmark of the Correggio summer music scene and of the entire Emilia-Romagna region.
The third edition of the Correggio Music Festival is scheduled for Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Arena Concerti in via Fazzano, Correggio. The formula that led to the success of the first two editions is confirmed: two evenings of live music with free admission, featuring big names in Italian music on the main stage, a contest dedicated to emerging artists, an expo area with creative local businesses, and a wide range of street food. The organization is handled by the association CMF APS with the support of about two hundred volunteers.
The 2026 lineup of major artists has not yet been announced: the organization has confirmed the dates (September 4-5) and the event's format, while the names of the protagonists will be communicated on the official channels in the weeks preceding the festival.
Registration for the contest dedicated to emerging talents is already open, with a deadline of June 11, 2026. Artists and bands can apply for free through the official social media channels (Instagram and Facebook @correggiomusicfestival). The winning projects will have the opportunity to perform on stage during the two evenings, before the headliners, in front of a jury of professionals and a large audience. The jury consists of Luca Marchi, Faffa, Andrea della Valle, and Valeria Luzi.
Correggio is located in the province of Reggio Emilia, in Emilia-Romagna. By car, it can be reached from the A1 motorway (exits Reggio Emilia or Modena Nord) following signs for Correggio. The nearest train station with good connections is Reggio Emilia, from which you can continue by bus or car. The Arena Concerti is located in via Fazzano, on the outskirts of the town.
Admission is completely free for both evenings. Concerts take place in the evening; detailed times are published on the festival's official channels in the weeks preceding the event.
On-site, there are dedicated areas for street food (with Emilian specialties and modern offerings) and an expo area. For information: [email protected].
