About EuroVolley 2026 Modena

From September 11th to 17th, 2026, the PalaPanini in Modena will host Pool A of the Men's European Volleyball Championship. Italy, Sweden, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Slovakia will compete on the court of the "volleyball capital," with four matches featuring Ferdinando De Giorgi's Italian team in front of the Modena crowd. A major international event in a city that lives and breathes volleyball like few other places in Europe.

European Volleyball Championship Returns to Modena

In September 2026, the PalaPanini in Modena becomes one of the homes of EuroVolley 2026, the Men's European Volleyball Championship organized by CEV (European Volleyball Confederation) and hosted by four nations: Italy, Bulgaria, Finland, and Romania. For the Emilian capital, long considered the Italian volleyball capital, this is a natural recognition: with its passionate fans, traditions, and the successes of Modena Volley, few arenas in Europe can transform a match into a celebration like the one on Via Divisione Acqui.

Pool A at PalaPanini

From September 11th to 17th, 2026, the PalaPanini will host the entire Pool A of the competition, comprising six national teams: Italy, Sweden, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Slovakia. Seven days of top-level international volleyball, with double-header matches daily and the best of European volleyball gathered in Modena.

De Giorgi's Azzurri in Modena

The Italian National Team, led by head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi, the reigning world champions, will debut in Naples against Sweden on September 10th and then move to Modena for four consecutive group stage matches: against Greece, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. For the Emilian fans, this is an opportunity to cheer on the Azzurri live in a competition that holds significant stakes: the tournament winner will earn direct qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

A City of Volleyball

Modena, located in the heart of Emilia-Romagna and the capital of its province (MO), is no ordinary venue for this sport. The PalaPanini is one of the temples of Italian and world volleyball, a regular stage for the great nights of the SuperLega and many triumphs of the National Team. Hosting the group stage of the European Championship means bringing the atmosphere of major continental events back to the city, with fans from all over Europe following their national teams.

Towards the Milan Final

The Modena Pool A is just the beginning of the journey: EuroVolley 2026 continues with the knockout stage and culminates on September 27th with the final in Milan. Therefore, an important part of the race for the continental title passes through Modena, in a tournament that also offers a spot in the Olympics.
