The masked festival in the heart of Correggio, with music, entertainment, and Carnival sweets
The Correggio Carnival is one of the most anticipated winter festivals in the historic center of this town in the Bassa Reggiana, in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Every year, in February, the Municipality of Correggio dresses up to welcome masks, confetti, and lots of cheer, in an afternoon designed to involve children, families, and citizens of all ages.
The event is organized by Pro Loco Giovani Correggio, the group of young volunteers from the local Pro Loco association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Correggio and the collaboration of the historic center's merchants. This network between volunteers, the administration, and downtown shops makes the Carnival a moment of authentic participation, capable of enlivening the city''s most characteristic streets.
