Historic cars on the legendary Dolomite passes, based in Cortina
The Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti is one of Italy's most prestigious regularity races for historic cars. Based in Cortina d'Ampezzo (province of Belluno), the event was founded in 1947 and crosses the most iconic passes of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering unforgettable images of vintage cars amidst the Ampezzo peaks.
The competition brings together historic cars built up to 1971, alongside the Legend (cars from 1972 to 2000) and Tributo GT (from 2001) categories, featuring a range of vehicles from pre-war saloons to modern grand tourers. An expert jury also awards prizes for the elegance competition.
The route winds through the symbolic passes of the Dolomite range: Passo Falzarego, Passo Giau, Passo Fedaia, Passo Tre Croci, and the Nevegal. The regularity trials test the precision and composure of the crews, while spectators admire the cars along the scenic roads.
The Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti is valid for the ACI Sport Italian Championship of Major Events, confirming its national prestige. The start ceremony on Corso Italia in Cortina is one of the most anticipated moments, with the parade of cars in the heart of the Queen of the Dolomites.
The 2026 edition of the Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti, the 79th, brings the charm of historic cars to Cortina d'Ampezzo from July 16th to 19th. The event alternates sporting and technical checks, an opening ceremony, race stages on the Dolomite passes, and a gala dinner, based at the Grand Hotel Savoia. The categories for cars up to 1971, Legend (1972-2000), and Tributo GT (from 2001) are confirmed, along with the elegance competition.
