About Come Eravamo
A journey through the town's memories
Come Eravamo is the event where Carignano, in the heart of the Piedmont region near Turin, rediscovers its roots for one special evening. Organized by the Pro Loco Carignano with the patronage of the Municipality and the collaboration of local associations and merchants, the festival turns the historic center into a vast, open-air stage where the past comes alive through music, flavors, and folk traditions.
The concept behind the festival is simple yet powerful: to recreate the atmosphere of days gone by, when people gathered in the square, danced the 'liscio' under the stars, and shared stories over a community dinner. The streets of the center come alive from the evening onwards, shops stay open, and every corner becomes a place to meet.
What makes Come Eravamo special
- Dinner under the arcades hosted by the Pro Loco, complemented by the culinary offerings of local bars and restaurants.
- Ballroom dancing (liscio) in Piazza San Giovanni with the Orchestra I Roeri, the true musical heart of the evening.
- Vintage car and motorcycle rally, including historic law enforcement vehicles.
- Vintage tractor rally organized by Ruggine Piemontese, a nostalgic parade that honors the region's agricultural heritage.
- Children's entertainment featuring wooden games, storytelling, and family-friendly activities.
- Folk songs, revival concerts, and monologues in the Piedmontese dialect that preserve local language and history.
A community celebration
Behind Come Eravamo lies a network of local entities: in addition to the Pro Loco, the Comitato San Rocco, the Associazione Culturale Ester, and Il Ciabot APS all contribute. This collective effort gives the evening the authentic flavor of a village festival, where Piedmontese culture is not a museum relic but a living tradition, shared across generations in the town of Carignano.

Sabato 6 giugno 2026 Carignano ha vissuto una nuova edizione di Come Eravamo, organizzata dalla Pro Loco con il patrocinio del Comune. Dalle 19:00 alle 24:00 il centro storico si è acceso tra musica, sapori e memoria piemontese, coinvolgendo le piazze principali della città.
Cuore pulsante della serata, la cena sotto i portici curata dalla Pro Loco, affiancata dalle proposte di bar e locali del paese. La festa ha unito intrattenimento per tutte le età e la riscoperta delle tradizioni locali.
Programme Come Eravamo 2026
Sabato 6 giugno 2026 — dalle ore 19:00 alle 24:00
La festa si è sviluppata tra Piazza San Giovanni, Piazza Carlo Alberto e Piazza Liberazione e le vie del centro storico.
- Cena sotto i portici curata dalla Pro Loco, con le proposte gastronomiche di bar e locali carignanesi.
- Ballo liscio in Piazza San Giovanni con l'Orchestra I Roeri.
- Concerti revival e canti popolari.
- Raduno di auto e moto d'epoca e mezzi d'epoca delle Forze dell'Ordine.
- IV Raduno dei Trattori d'epoca a cura di Ruggine Piemontese.
- Spettacoli per bambini con giochi in legno e attività per le famiglie.
- Ore 21:30 — sotto il portico della Chiesa dei Battuti Bianchi (via Borgo Vecchio), l'Associazione Culturale Ester presenta il monologo in piemontese Virgini dji can – Una signora prestata alla strada di Claudio Tartaglino.
- Negozi aperti, letture e tanto divertimento lungo le vie del centro.

Location

Carignano is located about 25 km south of Turin and is accessible by car via the SS20 or the Turin ring road. It is also served by the Turin-Carmagnola railway line.
