The youth mountain bike race at the Bike Park in Castelletto Cervo
The Colors and Flavors Trophy is a mountain bike race that turns the Bike Park in Castelletto Cervoโa small town in the Province of Biella, in the heart of Piedmontโinto a massive two-wheeled playground for young cycling enthusiasts every spring. Organized by the Cycling Center Asd club, the event is a cross-country (XCO) race reserved for youth categories, ranging from 5-year-olds to 15-year-olds.
The Trophy is closely linked to the history of the Castelletto Cervo Bike Park, a facility born from the vision of Mauro Cairati in collaboration with the municipal administration. The first edition, held in September 2023, inaugurated the new facility and saw over one hundred athletes at the starting line. Since then, the event has grown year after year, exceeding 200 participants and becoming a landmark for cycling clubs in the Biella region and throughout Piedmont.
The spirit of the event goes beyond competition: the organizers' stated goal is to inspire a love for cycling in children by offering them a safe place to grow alongside their friends. Thanks to projects like Muse ad Olimpia, many primary school students experience their "baptism on the dirt" here, tackling non-competitive laps guided by expert coaches. The day thus blends athleticism and fun, amidst dust, sunshine, and the contagious enthusiasm of the little ones.
The Colors and Flavors Trophy takes place thanks to the support of numerous private sponsors and the contribution of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Biella through their Event Grant. It is a perfect example of how a small Piedmontese community, through the hard work of volunteers and sports clubs, can build an event capable of attracting hundreds of families and sowing a passion for sport among new generations.
The fourth edition, organized by the Cycling Center club at the Bike Park in Castelletto Cervo, saw over 200 young athletes aged 5 to 15 at the starting line. Meeting at 10:00 AM at Via Chiesa 2, with the race starting at 1:00 PM.
Alongside the competitive race, thanks to the Muse ad Olimpia school project, numerous primary school students experienced their "baptism on the dirt" with non-competitive track laps, guided by expert coaches. It was a day filled with sun, dust, and excitement, supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Biella through their Event Grant and numerous private sponsors.
Race categories: PG, MPG, and Giovanissimi G1-G6. Open to licensed and non-licensed riders.
The race is held at the Bike Park in Castelletto Cervo, with the meeting point at Via Chiesa 2, in the town center (Province of Biella, Piedmont).
By car: Castelletto Cervo can be reached via the A4 Turin-Milan motorway (Carisio or Greggio exit) and the A26. By train: the nearest stations are on the Biella-Novara line. From Biella, the town is about a 20-minute drive away.
The event is designed for families: we recommend arriving in the morning for registration and bringing a bicycle and helmet for children who wish to participate. For information and registration, you can contact Mauro at +39 346 8821467.
