The Mango stop of the chamber music festival across the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato hills
Colline in Musica is a traveling chamber music festival that every summer weaves together melodies and landscapes across the hills of Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato in Piedmont. The sixth edition, scheduled from June 2 to June 28, 2026, is dedicated to the theme of "Roots"โexploring cultural memory, a sense of place, and the continuity of musical tradition. For the first time, the festival brings its performances to the town of Mango, in the province of Cuneo.
The Mango stop is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 6:30 PM, within the halls of the Castello dei Marchesi di Busca, which overlooks the medieval village and currently houses the Regional Moscato Wine Shop. The evening features guitarist Domenico Mottola, a returning guest of the festival and widely regarded as one of the most interesting performers of his generation. As artistic director Adrian Pinzaru notes, a solo guitar performance is a demanding challenge that requires both strong personality and interpretive maturity.
The 2026 edition features hour-long concerts in some of the most fascinating locations in the region: the Castle of Guarene, the Castle of Grinzane Cavour, the Reggia di Venaria, the Convent of San Francesco in Cortemilia, Palazzo Re Rebaudengo in Guarene, and, of course, the Castello dei Marchesi di Busca in Mango. All events begin at 6:30 PM and highlight young talents, major repertoire pieces, and new compositions, fostering a dialogue between diverse cultures.
Mango is a small wine-producing village in the Langhe, the land of Moscato. The Castello dei Marchesi di Busca, an imposing 17th-century structure built upon the ruins of a medieval fortress, served for centuries as the summer residence of the marquises and, in 1844, hosted Prince Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, the future King of Italy. Its historic setting makes the concert an experience that blends music, heritage, and wine culture.
Like all concerts in the festival, the Mango stop offers free admission. The complete program and updates are published on the official website of the organization, which manages the festival in collaboration with the I'm Exchange association.
