About Cjaminade pai Stai

The Cjaminade pai Stai a Cabia is a food and wine walk in the heart of Carnia, in Arta Terme: an easy route through the mountain huts, with eight tasting stops dedicated to traditional Carnic dishes. A day in the open air, accompanied by a nature guide, to discover the landscape, flavours, and culture of the Friulian mountains.

Walking and Tasting Among the Mountain Huts

In Carnia, stavoli are small rural mountain buildings, remnants of an ancient agricultural and pastoral economy. The Cjaminade pai Stai a Cabia, in Arta Terme, brings them back to the centre of a special day: a food and wine walk that combines the pleasure of walking with that of good food, along the path connecting the hamlet of Cabia to the surrounding mountain huts.

Eight Stops of Carnic Flavours

The route, about 3 km long with a 300-meter elevation gain (from 753 to 1,050 meters above sea level), is easy and suitable for families. Along the way, spread among the mountain huts, there are eight gastronomic stops with Carnic cuisine dishes: from blueberry spritz to bread with bean soup, from herb cjarsòns to elderflower fritters, to the hamburger with potatoes. A journey through mountain flavours, step by step.

A Day Together

The event is accompanied by a nature guide throughout the route and includes a shuttle service. Organized by the Pro Loco of Arta Terme in collaboration with the A.N.A. Group of Arta Terme, in the Municipality of Arta Terme (Province of Udine), the Cjaminade pai Stai is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Carnia, amidst nature, tradition, and conviviality.
