About Ciuri Arti e Culuri

Ciuri Arti e Culuri is an annual June festival that transforms the historic center of Naso, nestled in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, into an open-air gallery of floral displays, art, music, and local traditions. Promoted by the Pro Loco of Naso with the support of the Municipality, the festival brings the village's alleys, portals, and squares to life with artists, exhibitions, street performances, vintage vehicles, and folk groups, celebrating the unique identity of the Tyrrhenian-Nebrodi region.

A celebration of flowers, art, and colors in the Nebrodi mountains

Ciuri Arti e Culuri — which means «Flowers, Art and Colors» in Sicilian — is the event that every June transforms the historic center of Naso, a charming village in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, into a vast open-air art trail. Conceived and organized by the Pro Loco of Naso, led by Giovanni Sapienza, and supported by the Municipality of Naso, the festival was established in 2024 and has quickly become one of the most anticipated events on the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina.

The village as an art gallery

For an entire day, the alleys, portals, and ancient courtyards of the historic center are adorned with floral arrangements, installations, and works created by sculptors, painters, artisans, and master florists from across Sicily. The village streets fill with vibrant colors and scents, while the squares host performances, live music, and exhibitions. The event perfectly blends the promotion of Naso's artistic and architectural heritage with the celebration of local folk traditions.

Performances, folklore, and vintage vehicles

The program offers a mix of cultural moments and entertainment for all ages: parades, street theater, puppet shows, children's activities, and concerts that keep the village buzzing until late. Recurring highlights include performances by the Gruppo Folk città di Naso and an exhibition of vintage vehicles, which draw numerous enthusiasts and visitors alike.

Community and territory

More than just a festival, Ciuri Arti e Culuri is a community project. The organizers' stated goal is to strengthen a sense of belonging and promote the Nebrodi territory, set between the mountains and views of the Aeolian Islands. The event helps establish Naso as a tourist destination in the Tyrrhenian-Nebrodi area, fostering a dialogue between contemporary art, craftsmanship, and deep-rooted Sicilian heritage.

When it takes place

Ciuri Arti e Culuri is traditionally held on a day in mid-June in the heart of Naso's historic center. Access to the village streets is free, and the atmosphere is that of a grand village fair open to residents, curious travelers, and tourists.
