Terni's chocolate festival for Valentine's Day
Cioccolentino is the chocolate festival in Terni, Umbria, which enlivens the historic center every year for Valentine's Day. It's no coincidence: Terni is the city of the patron saint of lovers, and the event naturally combines the theme of love with the sweetness of chocolate. The initiatives are spread across the main city squares, from Piazza Europa to Piazza della Repubblica.
The festival hosts dozens of exhibitors and master chocolatiers from all over Italy, with over 200 varieties of chocolate to discover and taste. On the show cooking stage, Michelin-starred chefs and protagonists of the national gastronomic scene take turns, with demonstrations, contests, and guided tastings, some paired with wine by sommeliers.
The program includes workshops for couples and families, street performances like the ChocoParade and the Serenata Express through the streets of the center, concerts, and events dedicated to children. The Choco Tour - city of lovers also debuts, in collaboration with Coldiretti Umbria, a journey through history, flavors, and chocolate. Cioccolentino is now a well-established event in the calendar of the province of Terni.
The 2026 edition, the 22nd, had the theme "Love is in the air". For four days, from February 12 to 15, the historic center of Terni was filled with stands, aromas, and shows. The show cooking stage in Piazza Europa hosted the Master Chocolate contest with hotel management schools, while Michelin-starred chefs and well-known Italian culinary figures like Andrea Impero, Giorgione (Orto e Cucina), and Tommaso Foglia animated the days. Among the events were the debut of the Choco Tour - city of lovers with Coldiretti Umbria, the Serenata Express, and the final ChocoParade.
Approximately 50 selected stands with over 200 varieties of chocolate from producers and master chocolatiers from all over Italy.
Terni is reachable by train (Rome-Ancona, Rome-Terni line) and by car via the E45 or the SS Flaminia. The events take place in the historic center, which is easily walkable.
Access to the exhibition area and events in the squares is generally free; tastings and some workshops may incur a cost.
