Every year on December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Piazza XXIX Agosto 1943 in Orte Scalo takes on a new look. Lights, music, and wooden stalls take over the square—the hub of daily life in the district—creating a true Christmas village just steps away from the railway station that gave the area its name. This is the annual "Insieme è Natale" event, a Christmas market promoted and organized by the Comitato Festeggiamenti Classe 1985, an association that has spent years enlivening the community life of this part of the municipality of Orte, in the province of Viterbo, northern Lazio.

Local crafts and traditional products

The heart of the day is the market trail, which fills with exhibitors and hobbyists of all kinds from early morning. This is not a large-scale commercial fair, but a showcase of small-scale local production, where the sellers are almost always the creators of their goods. Among the stalls, you will find:

With darkness falling early in December, the glow of the lights across the square is the true gift the organizers give to the district.

The market is more than just a stroll among the stalls.
