Artisanal chocolate from master chocolatiers in the heart of Cassino
Every year, in the heart of Cassino, in the province of Frosinone in southern Lazio, Corso della Repubblica is dressed in cocoa and becomes the stage for the Chocolate Festival. For an entire weekend, the city's bustling central street, a meeting place for generations, fills with colorful stalls and enticing aromas that accompany residents and visitors from early morning until evening.
The event is part of the National Chocolate Festival Tour, promoted by the Choco Amore circuit, which for years has brought the excellence of confectionery craftsmanship to Italian squares. The absolute stars are the master chocolatiers, artisans who transform cocoa into small works of art to be savored. Along the street, you can discover and taste specialties such as pralines, gianduiotti, cremini, and chocolate enriched with dried fruit, the result of slow, high-quality production processes.
Beyond tasting, the Chocolate Festival is a sensory journey that tells the story and properties of cocoa, from ancient civilizations to contemporary artisanal mastery. The initiative promotes the culture of good food and healthy eating, presenting artisanal chocolate as a symbol of quality and tradition. For the city of Cassino, a place of rebirth, culture, and spirituality, the event has become a small but eagerly awaited fixture on the calendar.
Great space is dedicated to the younger generation. During the event, free educational workshops are organized for primary and middle school students: teachers can register their classes through the circuit's official website. There are also plenty of moments designed for children and families, making the festival an experience suitable for all ages.
Supported by the patronage of the Municipality of Cassino, the Chocolate Festival enlivens the historic center and attracts visitors from the Ciociaria region and neighboring provinces. Strolling along the street with a bag of pralines in hand, among the chocolatiers' displays and the festive atmosphere of the square, has become one of the most beloved sweet appointments of the Cassino winter.
From February 20 to 22, 2026, Corso della Repubblica, in the center of Cassino (FR), hosted the third edition of the Chocolate Festival, part of the National Chocolate Festival Tour by the Choco Amore circuit. The master chocolatiers' stalls offered pralines, gianduiotti, cremini, and chocolate with dried fruit, in a tasting journey dedicated to cocoa culture. Free educational workshops for primary and middle school students were also confirmed. The event, under the patronage of the Municipality of Cassino, ran from 10:00 AM until evening with free admission.
By car: Cassino is served by the A1 Milan-Naples motorway, Cassino exit; from there, the center is easily reached. By train: The Cassino station is on the Rome-Naples line via Cassino, a few minutes' walk from Corso della Repubblica.
The event runs from 10:00 AM until evening. Admission is free; you only pay for what you purchase at the stalls.
The stalls are outdoors along the street: in case of winter cold, it is advisable to dress comfortably. For school workshops, advance booking via the official Chocolate Festival website is required.
