The Piedmontese amateur theatre festival at the Auditorium San Giuseppe
“Chi è di scena a… Neive” is the theatre festival that brings the Auditorium San Giuseppe on Via Teobaldo Calissano to life every year between late April and May. Located in Neive, in the province of Cuneo, the town is not only famous for its Barbaresco vineyards and its status as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy"; it is also a community that proudly preserves the tradition of Piedmontese amateur theatre.
The festival is organized by the I Fabulanti di Neive theatre company, a group of stage enthusiasts who have been performing comedies and plays for years with the patronage of the Municipality of Neive. The event brings together various amateur troupes from the Cuneo area and across Piedmont, offering a programme designed for audiences of all ages.
The formula is simple and well-established: three shows spread over three evenings, each performed by a different company. The repertoire ranges from brilliant comedy to mystery, and from ironic historical storytelling to spoken-word theatre, with a special focus on local productions. Performances usually take place at 9:00 PM at the Auditorium San Giuseppe, the heart of Neive's social life.
Born to provide a stage for amateur companies and offer Neive residents high-quality entertainment close to home, the festival has become a fixture in the town's cultural calendar. Free admission (with donations encouraged) makes it accessible to everyone and helps support the visiting companies.
“Chi è di scena a… Neive” represents the perfect blend of culture, conviviality, and local identity: a small gem of provincial theatre that deserves to be discovered by those visiting the Langhe for its wines and landscapes.
The seventh edition of the Neive (CN) theatre festival took place over the three Saturdays of May 2026, confirming the format of three evening events at the Auditorium San Giuseppe on Via Calissano.
