About Chestnut Festival

In October, Paspardo, a small village in Valle Camonica in the province of Brescia, celebrates the chestnut with its autumn festival. Along the streets of the historic center, around Piazza Umberto I, there are stands with local typical products, roasted chestnuts, handicrafts, and iron sculptures, accompanied by live music. The star is Pult e Lat, a traditional dish made from chestnut flour. A genuine mountain feast, in the town famous for its rock engravings.

The chestnut, queen of Camun autumn

The Chestnut Festival is the celebration that every October takes place in Paspardo, a mountain village in Valle Camonica, in the province of Brescia, dedicated to the symbolic fruit of autumn. The event enlivens the historic center of the town, with its epicenter in Piazza Umberto I, transforming the streets into a journey of flavors and traditions.

Mountain flavors and specialties

Along the stands, you can find local typical products and, of course, roasted chestnuts. The specialty that best represents Paspardo is Pult e Lat, a traditional dish made from chestnut flour, a testament to a simple mountain cuisine tied to the land. Tasting these flavors is the best way to discover the gastronomic identity of Valle Camonica.

Handicrafts, iron, and music

The festival is not just about gastronomy. Among the stalls, there is space for handicrafts and characteristic iron sculptures, while live music accompanies the festive days. A welcoming and authentic village atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over the valley.

In the land of rock engravings

Paspardo is one of the municipalities in Valle Camonica famous for its rock engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which dot its slopes. Visiting the Chestnut Festival is therefore also an opportunity to discover a village with a thousand-year history, where autumn traditions intertwine with a unique landscape and archaeological heritage.

Chestnut Festival โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Chestnut Festival of Paspardo is scheduled for October, typically on the third weekend of the month, in the historic center around Piazza Umberto I. Stands with typical products, roasted chestnuts, the Pult e Lat dish made from chestnut flour, handicrafts, iron sculptures, and live music.

The Chestnut Festival 2026 returns to Paspardo in October, following the model of previous editions held on the third weekend of the month (the previous edition took place on October 19-20). The historic center, around Piazza Umberto I, hosts stands with local typical products, roasted chestnuts, and the traditional Pult e Lat made from chestnut flour. Handicrafts, iron sculptures, and live music complete the festivities. The exact date will be confirmed by the Municipality of Paspardo in the weeks prior.
