A gourmet walking tour through the cherry blossoms on the hills of Pecetto Torinese
The Cherry Blossom Walk is one of the most anticipated spring events in the town of Pecetto Torinese, located in the Province of Turin, in the heart of Piedmont. When the hillside orchards are covered in white and pink flowers, the town welcomes thousands of walkers for a gourmet stroll that combines the pleasure of movement with a love for the landscape and local flavors.
The route is an 8-kilometer loop starting and ending in Piazza Roma, in the town center. From the square, the trail climbs towards the Rosero hamlet, descends along Strada Ciattalina, and continues through Strada Virana, Valle San Pietro, and Valle Sauglio, offering sweeping views of the Pecetto hills and cherry orchards in full bloom. It is an accessible route suitable for families and casual walkers, meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace while taking in the seasonal sights and scents.
The true heart of the event lies in the gourmet stops: five refreshment points are set up along the route where participants can refuel with hot chocolate, rusks with jam, packaged sweets, sandwiches, fruit, and tea. At the end of the walk, there are prize ceremonies featuring local products, while the first registrants receive the official event t-shirt.
Pecetto Torinese has been known for generations as the town of cherries: cherry cultivation is an integral part of the local identity, culminating every summer in the historic Cherry Festival. The spring walk anticipates this tradition by celebrating the blossoming, a spectacular moment that transforms the hills into a sea of petals. Participating means discovering an authentic corner of the Piedmontese hills, just a few kilometers from Turin.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Pecettese in collaboration with the Municipality of Pecetto Torinese and under the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin. Now in its fourth decade, the walk has established itself as one of the premier spring events in the Turin area, successfully combining light sport, conviviality, and the promotion of local landscape and culinary heritage.
Domenica 12 aprile 2026:
Pecetto Torinese is located on the hills southeast of Turin, about 15 km from the city center. It is easily reached by car from the ring road and the hillside roads; parking in town is limited during the event, so arriving early is recommended. By train, the reference station is Turin, from which you can continue via local transport.
The participation fee is 12 euros and includes access to the gourmet stops; it is free for children aged 0 to 10. Departure is flexible between 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM from Piazza Roma. Dogs on leashes are allowed.
We recommend comfortable light trekking shoes and layered clothing suitable for the spring hill weather.
