An evening of reggae, dub, and wholesome conviviality on the Terrazza Belvedere in Cellino Attanasio
The Cellino Reggae Fest was created to bring reggae and dub culture to one of the most evocative corners of Abruzzo: the Terrazza Belvedere in Cellino Attanasio, a medieval village in the province of Teramo overlooking the hills that slope down toward the Adriatic Sea. Every summer, this panoramic square transforms into a small open-air stage where bands and sound systems from the Italian reggae scene take turns for an evening of live music, good vibes, and sharing.
The event is promoted by the Pro Loco Cellino Attanasio APS together with the local community and is designed as a true grassroots celebration: affordable entry, local food and products, artisan stalls, and a family-friendly atmosphere that welcomes both genre enthusiasts and village families alike. In recent years, the festival has adopted the subtitle MelonEdition, dedicated to the memory of Luigi Melone, a beloved figure in the local community.
The heart of the event lies in the evening concerts, which bring well-known names from the Italian reggae and dub scene to the stage alongside local sound systems and artists. However, the Cellino Reggae Fest is also designed for children, featuring activities, readings, and afternoon snacks before the evening music kicks off. The gastronomic offerings highlight the flavors of the Abruzzo region and local agritourism specialties.
The festival is set in Cellino Attanasio, a member of the Borghi piรน belli d'Italia (Most Beautiful Villages in Italy) circuit: a medieval historic center dominated by the Santa Maria La Nova collegiate church, with narrow alleys, picturesque views, and the famous Terrazza Belvedere, from which the gaze sweeps across the Teramo hills. Attending the Cellino Reggae Fest means combining a quality concert with the discovery of a small jewel in the Abruzzo hinterland, in the province of Teramo.
The 2026 edition of the Cellino Reggae Fest will be held on Friday, July 10 on the Terrazza Belvedere in Cellino Attanasio, in the province of Teramo. The evening brings together some key players from the Italian reggae and ska scene along with a sound system historically linked to the festival, for a night of live music at an affordable price. Before the concerts, the afternoon is dedicated to children with activities and snacks, in a true family spirit.
Cellino Attanasio can be reached by car from the A14 motorway (Val Vomano or Roseto degli Abruzzi exits) and from the SS150 state road, then heading up toward the hilltop village. The nearest train station is Roseto degli Abruzzi/Giulianova on the Adriatic line, with onward travel by car or bus.
The event takes place on the Terrazza/Piazza Belvedere, in the historic center of Cellino Attanasio (TE).
Entry to the concerts is at an affordable price (5 euros in recent editions). Children's activities begin in the late afternoon, with live concerts in the evening. For updated dates, times, and information, it is recommended to follow the social media channels of the Pro Loco Cellino Attanasio.
