A non-competitive charity run through the streets of Cellamare
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Cellamare in Corsa is a non-competitive running event that, for several years now, has transformed the streets of Cellamare into a vibrant space for celebration and community participation. Usually held in spring, this event has become a highly anticipated tradition in this small town within the Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia: a day where sport becomes an opportunity for connection, inclusion, and social commitment for the entire community.
The organizers have chosen a non-competitive and inclusive format: no rankings, no times to beat, just the pleasure of running or walking together along a route of approximately 4 kilometers that traverses the main streets of the town. This approach stems from a desire to ensure the widest possible participation, involving children, young people, families, and walkers of all ages in an atmosphere of collective celebration.
The defining feature of Cellamare in Corsa is its charitable mission, summarized by the motto "together for solidarity." The event is designed to raise community awareness regarding disability and social inclusion: registration proceeds are donated to support initiatives and projects dedicated to local children with disabilities. For one day, running becomes a small, tangible gesture of care for others.
The event is the result of a collaboration between A.S.D. Libertas Cellamare, a historic sports association active in the area for over forty years, and the young A.P.S. Stattitu!, an organization dedicated to disability and volunteering. The event is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Cellamare, reflecting the initiative's deep local roots.
Starting and finishing in the heart of the town, the route winds through the streets of Cellamare in a festive atmosphere. In addition to the run itself, the editions feature entertainment activities with a special focus on children and families, as well as a rich final refreshment area that brings the day to a convivial close. Participants receive a race bib and a dedicated event shirt to wear along the course.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced. Those wishing to participate can follow the channels of the organizing associations and the Municipality of Cellamare to learn about the program, registration methods, and the route for the next edition of this initiative, which year after year unites sport and solidarity in Puglia.
At the moment, the organizing associations have not yet announced the official date or the program for the 2026 edition of Cellamare in Corsa. In previous years, the event was held in the spring, typically in May, featuring a non-competitive run of approximately 4 km through the streets of Cellamare, Puglia. Information regarding the route, registration, and times will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
