Cecy for Runners

A run that races for Nepal

Cecy for Runners is a non-competitive running event that brings the streets of Revello—a small town in the Province of Cuneo at the foot of the Monviso mountain in Piedmont—to life every year in early June. It is not a race in the traditional sense: there are no rankings, and everyone is free to cover the route at their own pace, whether running, walking, or fitwalking. The only true finish line is solidarity.

The spirit of the event

The race was born and thrives thanks to the Cecy Onlus Association, a local organization that hosts charity events to support education and housing projects in Nepal. Every registration fee is donated in full: running or walking through the streets of Revello means directly contributing to building prospects, education, and opportunities for Nepalese youth.

The primary beneficiary of the initiative is the Monviso Girls Hostel in Salleri, Nepal, a boarding school that provides safe accommodation, meals, and study spaces for girls from rural areas, enabling them to complete high school and pursue university studies.

A course for everyone

The main route, reserved for adults, is approximately 5.4 km long and winds through the town streets, starting and finishing at Viale della Rimembranza. Shorter routes are available for children, designed to involve families and kids alike. It is a deeply popular and inclusive event: from trained runners to those simply looking for an evening stroll for a good cause, everyone finds their place.

An event that has grown over time

Starting in 2016 with just over 500 participants, Cecy for Runners has grown year after year, exceeding 1,200 registrants and becoming one of the most cherished solidarity events in Revello and the entire Saluzzo area. The event is organized in collaboration with Atletica Saluzzo and the Pro Loco of Revello, with the patronage of the Municipality of Revello.

Sport, community, and solidarity

More than just a race, Cecy for Runners is a gathering that brings the town together for an evening of celebration. At the end of the course, there is always refreshments and a chance to socialize, because here, sport is primarily a way to be part of a community and provide a future for those thousands of miles away. A small gesture that, multiplied by over a thousand participants, truly makes a difference.
