The patronal feast of Castiglione Torinese: five days of fine dining, music, sports, and tradition
Castiglione in Festa is the patronal feast of Castiglione Torinese, a town nestled in the hills overlooking the left bank of the Po River, in the Province of Turin, Piedmont. The event is dedicated to Saints Claudio and Dalmazzo, the town's patron saints, and is traditionally held around the first Sunday of June. It is the time of year when the entire village comes together: for five days, the squares, the Salone Polivalente, and the historic center are filled with food and wine stalls, music, and activities for all ages.
The soul of the festival is the Pro Loco of Castiglione Torinese, which works closely with the municipal administration to create a rich and varied program. This is not an event designed for mass tourism, but a genuine village festival: its true value lies in the collective participation of residents, local associations, the music school, and the parishes. The food pavilion, open every evening, serves as the hub for dance nights, concerts, sporting events, and cultural initiatives.
Like every Italian patronal feast, the religious heart remains central in Castiglione: Sunday is dedicated to the Solemn Holy Mass and the procession in honor of Saints Claudio and Dalmazzo, which winds through the town streets. Alongside the spiritual dimension, there are plenty of lively and popular moments, from the StraCastiglione fun run to musical evenings, children's games, tribute bands, and mobile discos.
Castiglione in Festa is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Turin hills and experience the conviviality of a community that gathers around its patron saints every June.
The 2026 patronal feast of Saints Claudio and Dalmazzo in Castiglione Torinese opened on Thursday, June 4, with the StraCastiglione race and concluded on Monday, June 8. Among the most popular events were the Summer Festival with DJ sets, the concert by the Far Rock Queen Tribute Band on Sunday, and the final dance evening with a live orchestra. As every year, the food pavilion, open every evening, and the Sunday morning religious procession served as the common thread.
Prior to the festival, on Sunday, May 31 at 10:00 AM, a Vespa Club gathering was held with an aperitif at the cloister.
Castiglione Torinese is located a few kilometers east of Turin, on the hills overlooking the Po. By car, it is easily accessible from the Turin ring road and the provincial road connecting Gassino Torinese and San Mauro Torinese. The most convenient train station is in Turin, from where you can continue via local transport.
Events take place in the historic center and at the Salone Polivalente. The food pavilion opens every evening, generally from 7:00 PM.
Admission to the events is free; food and drinks at the pavilion are for purchase. For information: Culture, Leisure, and Sports Office of the Municipality of Castiglione Torinese, tel. +39 011 9819111, email [email protected].
