The Castelnuovo Belbo Food and Wine Walk is one of the most beloved spring events in Castelnuovo Belbo, a small village in the Province of Asti nestled in the wine-growing hills of Asti Monferrato, Piedmont. For over twenty years, this event has drawn hikers, families, and food lovers eager to discover the region one step—and one glass—at a time.
The route and the experience
The trail covers about 12 kilometers on a loop suitable for all, alternating between dirt tracks and paved roads among the rows of vines and rolling hills. This is not a race: it is a social stroll where you set the pace, stopping at refreshment points along the way to taste local gastronomic specialties. The Monferrato landscape, with its orderly vineyards and sweeping hill views, provides the perfect backdrop for a day in the open air.

Running alongside the walk is the "Snapshot among the Vineyards" photo contest, which invites participants to capture the most evocative moments of the day among the vines and hills of Castelnuovo Belbo. It is a great way to take home a memory of the walk and, with a bit of luck, win a prize for your shot.
Tradition and territory
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Castelnuovo Belbo in collaboration with the municipal administration. It is a chance to experience the Asti Monferrato in its most authentic form: that of small village communities, fine wine, local cuisine, and the hilly landscapes that have made this part of Piedmont famous. The event takes place in spring and is cancelled in case of bad weather.

When and where
The walk takes place in spring (on a Sunday), with the meeting point in front of Bar Miky in Castelnuovo Belbo (AT), in the heart of the Asti Monferrato.
Registration and departure
On-site registration on the morning of the event; departure in the late morning. Participation fee for adults, free for young children. Dogs are welcome.
How to get there
By car: Castelnuovo Belbo is located about 20 km southeast of Asti, near Nizza Monferrato. By train: the nearest stations are in Asti and Nizza Monferrato, then continue by road.
Tips
Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers. In case of rain, the event will be cancelled: please check for updates before setting off.
