The Carnival for Venafro's Families
In Venafro (province of Isernia), Carnival in the Square is now a fixed event on the winter calendar. In the central Piazza Porta Nuova, on a February afternoon, children and families gather for a widespread and colorful carnival, organized by the Parish of San Giovanni in Platea in collaboration with various local associations.
Music, Entertainment, and Games for Everyone
The program is mainly dedicated to the little ones: music and entertainment, baby dance, mascots, balloon art, games, and activities designed for all ages. A neighborhood and community celebration that brings the joy of Carnival to the square in a family-friendly way. In case of rain, the event will move to the "San Luigi Orione" conference hall.

For 2026, in its 5th edition, Venafro's Carnival in the Square took place on Sunday, February 15, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in Piazza Porta Nuova. The Parish of San Giovanni in Platea, along with local associations, enlivened the afternoon with music, baby dance, mascots, balloon art, and games for children and families. In case of rain, the "San Luigi Orione" conference hall was available.
